Sources reveal ongoing discussions with director Anurag Singh for the direction of “Border 2,” starring Sunny Deol and Ayushmann Khurrana. The producers are planning to create India’s biggest war film, incorporating the country’s top technicians into the crew.
Bhushan Kumar and J.P. Dutta are joining hands to bring the sequel to the 1997 blockbuster “Border” to the big screen. While Ayushmann has signed on the dotted lines and is part of the epic war drama, Sunny Deol is yet to finalize his agreement for this feature film.
Director Anurag Singh, known for his work on “Kesari” and “Punjab 1984,” is in talks to helm Border 2. According to close sources, after considering several names, including Sankalp Reddy (Ghazi Attack) and Om Raut (Tanhaji), the team has advanced to the final stages of negotiation with Anurag Singh. A close source connected to the development said, “The team has verbally agreed on Anurag’s name and things will move forward in the paperwork stage soon, given his ability to handle politically sensitive scenarios with sensitivity and establish a film on a certain scale.”
